The Least Laborious Labor Day Menu

Labor Day always seems to “officially” mark the end of summer. For a foodie it means a change in fresh produce, flavors and cooking techniques. As much as I love peaches and grilling I really really really am obsessed with fall flavors, apples, soup and I literally die for winter squash so I am ready for the change.

In honor of Labor Day + the end of summer here are some labor-less summer recipes to fire up the grill one last time (or so) for:

The easiest crock pot shredded chicken. Perfect for salads, burritos and tacos. chicken-main

Grilled Salmon with Fresh Pineapple Salsa. Salmon_grilled_pineapple_salsa_2

These Portobello Mushroom Burgers with Sundried Tomato Pesto. Portabella-Burgers-with-Sundried-Tomato-Pesto-3

Rainbow veggie skewers.

Summer Herb and Chickpea Chopped Salad.

These recipes make me almost take back my ready for fall comment. At least we will part ways with a good taste in my mouth.

Healthy Regards,

Tell me:

Are you ready for fall?

Are there any fall flavors you particularly love?

Is the weather where you are starting to change? August and September in California are our hottest months so it definitely doesn’t feel like Fall is coming.

  1. Bonniesays:

I’m ready for fall! Pumpkin, apples, cinnamon…these are my fall flavors. I’ll certainly miss peach though!

  2. Oh we’ll still have summer for a few more weeks, so I have to hold off the pumpkin and apple season until October. Thanks for sharing my grilled salmon recipe. Happy Labor Day weekend!
